If sent with return receipt requested, there will be no response to your request for receipt, and the letter will eventually returned to you "unclaimed" and "undelivered". If you want proof of delivery, ordinary mail can be sent CERTIFIED, NO RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED, and delivery can be tracked online using the certification number provided by the Post Office.
